As a school board member for District 4 Amy will be committed to improving the lives of students and families. She will work with community stakeholders to improve our schools.
There are many factors that affect student success. Listed below are few issues that Amy will work in collaboration with school and community leaders to ensure students receive the tools necessary for ongoing success through graduation and beyond.

Provide equitable resources for all students including those with special needs.
Ensure literacy is a priority in all grades especially early childhood years.
Work towards reducing truancy in schools.
Provide a safe environment for students, teachers, all staff on school campuses, and bus drivers.
Foster positive relationships between school resource officers and students.
Encourage, promote, and support parental engagement.
Prioritize teacher recruitment and retention.
Increase graduation rates.
Address student basic health needs.
Provide timely mental health resources.
Champion teacher and support staff pay.
Provide adequate funding for building improvements.
